A 4×360° laser level projects four full 360-degree laser planes simultaneously — typically one horizontal plane and three vertical planes. This provides complete room coverage, projecting reference lines on all four walls, the ceiling, and the floor at the same time. The CM-S02 generates 16 individual laser lines from these four planes, eliminating the need to reposition the tool for most standard interior layout tasks.

The CM-S02 delivers a leveling accuracy of ±1.5mm at 5 meters (approximately ±1/16 inch at 16 feet). This accuracy is suitable for most home renovation and interior finishing applications including tile installation, drywall, cabinetry, and trim work. The self-leveling compensation range is ±4°, meaning the tool automatically levels itself when placed on surfaces tilted up to 4 degrees.

The CM-S02 can be used outdoors in low-light or overcast conditions. With pulse mode enabled, it works with a compatible laser detector to extend usability beyond direct-visibility range. However, in bright outdoor sunlight the green laser beam may be difficult to see without a detector. For heavy outdoor use — such as foundation layout or land grading — a rotary laser level designed specifically for outdoor applications would be a better fit. The CM-S02 is rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance.

Green laser beams are approximately 4× more visible to the human eye than red lasers under the same conditions, because the human eye is most sensitive to green light. This makes green lasers easier to see in brighter environments and at longer distances. The trade-off is that green laser diodes typically consume slightly more battery power. For most indoor work, green lasers allow for faster, less eye-straining alignment.

The CM-S02 uses a rechargeable 7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion battery (two batteries included). In normal operation mode with all lines active, runtime is approximately 8 hours per battery. In energy-saving mode (reduced brightness or fewer active lines), runtime extends to approximately 26 hours. The batteries charge via standard Type-C cable and are removable, so you can swap in the second battery for uninterrupted work on long jobs.

In self-leveling mode, the CM-S02 automatically levels its laser planes within a ±4° tilt range using an internal pendulum mechanism. This is the standard mode for most leveling and alignment tasks. In manual mode (also called lock mode), the pendulum is locked and the laser planes are fixed at whatever angle the tool is tilted to — useful for projecting plumb bobs, marking angled lines, or working on sloped surfaces. The mode is switchable via the control buttons or the smartphone app.
